Ella was cleaning the laundry in the house as her brother, Matt, walked in. as if by magic, Ella let go of the green dress she was folding, ran, and hugged her brother, who backed away. Meanwhile, their mother ran in, kissed her son on the forehead and shouted, “Finally, My son had returned, when he was believed to be dead!”
In the main room, Matt was recounting the story of his quest to his mother and sister, about how he managed to slay Vulcanis, the evil dragon that was threatening the city. Suddenly, they heard a roar… there was a cloud of smoke as the room immediately disintegrated into dust from the extreme heat of the flames that had blown over them. When the smoke cleared, it revealed a hideous face. It was the mother of Vulcanis, and she was seeking revenge…
Matt was shocked, and then he picked up his sword, running at the dragon with it. He swung at her, dodging the next round of flames, and cut off her left wing. She roared at him in pain and swiped at him with her talons. Matt was knocked onto the floor, bleeding heavily. Ella was outraged, and picking up Matt’s sword, stabbed the large dragon straight through the heart. In a few seconds, the dragon was on the ground as the life feebly flickered away from its eyes. Dropping the sword, she ran to her brother, who looked up at her and smiled, “nice swing, your angle was not very efficient though.” She smiled at his humour, noticing how the wound was not very deep. “Here you are, lying wounded on the floor, and all you can give is criticism? That’s the brother I know.” She helped him up and said,” Come on, let’s take you to the healer.”
The story of how Ella slayed the dragon became very famous, and soon, she was known as the best dragon slayer in the land, defeating the beasts that threatened her country.
