Little is known of Mary the mother of god. St Luke tells us about the birth of Jesus. As a Christian, I believe that Mary is the mother of god. Of all saints, Mary is my favourite because she was worthy enough to be the mother of god. This is a bible reading about what happened.
Announcement of the birth of Jesus (Luke1:26-31)
“In the sixth month, Angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin who was betrothed to a man named joseph, of the town of David and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming to her he said, “O hail most favoured one! The Lord is with you. “But she was greatly troubled at what he said and pondered at what the greeting might mean. Then the angel said to her “do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favour in the Lord. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son and call him Jesus.”
Mary has many emblems including a Unicorn, Lily and a spring of flowing water. Her feast day is the 15th of August
